All new degree-seeking students are required to either submit their ACT scores or complete the COMPASS Assessment Test. The COMPASS is a computerized placement test that covers basic skill areas in writing, reading and mathematics. You are not rewarded or penalized for your scores on the COMPASS Assessment; it is just one of the many tools that your advisor will use to help you register for classes.

Once you have submitted an application for admission to Northwest State, you can mark your calendar to attend a walk-in COMPASS Assessment day. The schedule for upcoming walk-in COMPASS dates is listed below. Please plan on about one and a half hours for testing.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Friday, April 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
