Trends - Format and Content
- A trend is a statement of a phenomenon or change and its direction in the next 3-5 years. A trend statement is written and expressed accordingly. Avoid a "trend statement" suggested or assumed, or expressed as a reflection of values and or a response to a change and its future direction.
- Make sure each trend is supported with a rationale, that is a summary of the primary sources of information in support of the trend statement.
- Review - for form, content and comprehensiveness, trends presented in the workshop on January 16.
A final set of core trends will be selected on the following criteria:
- The likelihood of the trend occurring during the next 3-5 years.
- Judgments on the quality and quantity of the implications associated with each trend for the region the College serves.
- The results of interviews with leaders on trends they believe are most important for the region.
